Had booked another name-brand hotel in the area, but got worried about the "iffy" reviews I was seeing. Compared location, price and favorable reviews for Royal St. Charles and decided to take a chance. Great location. Spotlessly clean, newly renovated hotel from lobby to guest rooms. Yes, room was small but all the amenities were there. It is so rare to find something this clean, new and modern in the French Quarter without paying $$$$$$. I'm not a big fan of contemporary decor but this is done tastefully and well. We had booked 3 nights but had to return home after the second night and the hotel was gracious enough not to charge us a penalty for checking out early. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend this hotel!
